Copenhagen, August 20th, 2021 – Heimdal™ Security (Heimdal™) has just launched a new and market redefining cross-module Zero-Trust Execution Protection functionality that will allow customers to seamlessly protect their organization against zero-hour threats.

The submodule is bound to work in the Heimdal™ Agent if at least one of the three main modules which encapsulate it is enabled: Privileged Access Management, Application Control or Next-Gen Antivirus, and MDM.

It will be manageable from the Endpoint Settings section across three different Heimdal™ Dashboard areas:

If the submodule is enabled or disabled in one of the three above-mentioned Settings areas, the change will take effect in all of the three modules.

The new Zero-Trust Execution Protection will intelligently diagnose all running processes within the customer’s IT environment to detect and block malign or questionable executions. Our cutting-edge technology will appropriately mitigate the potentially harmful processes with no impact on the overall machine performance, which will definitely save a significant amount of time for system administrators.

In a cybersecurity market that keeps accelerating the focus on privileged and identity access management, this is the most advanced golden standard in cybersecurity EDR tools, empowering users to always stay one step ahead of any attacker.

How Zero-Trust Execution Protection Works

If the started process does not have a known or trusted signature, the powerful Zero-Trust Execution Protection module will step in.

Heimdal™ will check the respective application and determine whether it is benign or not. Only known and trusted software will be allowed to run.  The Zero-Trust Protection module will then either allow the process to execute or kill it based on the diagnosis given by the performed check. The system uses globally gathered historical intel across all Heimdal™ Agent-based products.

By adding advanced threat intelligence to PAM and Application Control, Heimdal™ does more than simple whitelisting and blacklisting. Instead, our modules perform proactive greylisting through the Zero-Trust Execution Protection submodule. This then results in the process either being allowed or blocked entirely following cutting-edge analysis based on our market-leading algorithms that are trained and fed with real-life scenarios.

By effectively stopping any zero-day executable in its tracks, Zero-Trust Execution Protection allows us to bring excellent machine learning capabilities into Privileged Access Management for breakthrough granularity. Our clients will benefit from the full visibility into the user side that our unique approach to extensive monitoring offers. Achieving complete threat de-escalation upon detection is another crucial time and money-saving advantage.

A Word from our CEO

We’re absolutely confident that our New Zero-Trust Feature for Application Control, PAM, and Next-Gen Endpoint Antivirus will revolutionize the way in which we fight against the elusive threat of zero-day executables. By also applying it to the Privileged Access Management product, we’re leading the way to an exemplary focus on one of the burning points of today’s cybersecurity market: the drastic need to protect company data from both outside and inside threats by strictly controlling who has access to what and also what they can run.

– Morten Kjaersgaard, Heimdal™ Security CEO
